Tariro Gardens

…..grows fresh greens for the community. To help local residents, Tariro Gardens offers workshops that are intended to aid local residents in starting and maintaining their own gardens.

Tariro Gardens leads in demonstrations of the agribusiness, we lead in sustainable projects .

How so . We simply do it in practical ways and the rest of the community members follow suite.

We started with the nutritional gardens . We have developed gardens in our community and neighboring communities, people individually come and seek knowledge on pest control , how to grow and marketing strategies of various crops. They also seek to know the benefits of the crops they grow nutritiously. We offer free services on site and field visits to their sites.

Our successful fish project has attracted local interests that we have developed ponds around the community and beyond. We freely give knowledge on how to start a backyard fish farm for family consumption and market . Almost every week we register people who seek suck knowledge.

We also help the community being fairly priced products that are nutritious at a low cost . Fish is from Kariba , over 500 miles away from here , thus the cost is very high.

The fish ponds are also recreational as people come and fish on their own thus having to wind up difficult times and have some peace of mind , this encourages family togetherness and activities for youths . In turn they may escape drug abuse and prostitution.
